What is the name of your magazine? What are the connotations of the name? My magazines name is going to be “Pen and Pencil” because they both relate to the genre of my magazine. The other reason why I used this as my masthead is that when students revise or do anything related to education they need a pen and pencil so this is why I thought that this would be a suitable name for my magazine. What will be your front cover story and how will you visualise this? On my front cover there is going to be a model holding books showing that he is stressed however he is also going to be smirking just to show the audience that he has overcome that stress. My background is going to be grass and trees to show how nature correlates with student lives. Who is the target audience? (Consider age, gender and interests) The target audience for my magazine is going to be students and teachers that are at college/sixth form because they are the only ones that are going to be interested in this magazine especially the students that are at the sixth form. The age group of my magazine is going to be 16-21 and above. The gender of my magazine is going to be males and females because the story on the front cover is about stress and both males and females get stressed out when it comes to their exam times. What sort of shot will it be? (Close up, mid shot, low or high angle) My shot is going to be a long shot but just showing the body and books that my model will be reading. What mise-en-scene will be required for the photography? (Location, clothing and lighting) My model is going to be reading books so having the books will be necessary but wearing the uniform is also very important because the magazine is based on sixth form and in our sixth form we wear uniform so the audience will know what genre it is. The location is going to be outdoors near the benches are because I am trying to show how nature correlates with students. What would be your headline and how will it match the main image? My headline is going to be “stress strikes students” because this relates to the story on my front cover and it will give the audience a clue on what message I am trying to send to the target audience. What colour scheme do you want to use and explain why? I am not going to be using any background colours on my front cover however my contents page’s background is going to be white. The colour scheme is going to black, white and purple. The reason I am using black and white is that white shows purity and the colour black purifies power and this relates to a student life.
